Pest Management

Healthy Schools Act & Integrated Pest Management

All schools and child care facilities in California are bound by the Healthy Schools Act (HSA) which was signed into law in 2000. The California Department of Pesticide Regulation (DPR) administers HSA compliance and education programs to help schools implement Integrated Pest Management (IPM) programs aimed at managing common pests in a manner that reduces pesticide use and promotes a healthy school environment. This page contains some helpful links to HSA and IPM information that is the basis for controlling pests at our FCUSD schools.
