My Healthy Future
The "My Healthy Future: A Self-Paced Online Course" is an Alternative-to-Suspension (ATS) program created by the Stanford REACH Lab, developers of the Tobacco Prevention Toolkit and the Cannabis Awareness and Prevention Toolkit. This course is for any student caught using tobacco/vaping on the school campus, or anyone working with students who want to quit. Students can complete this new interactive online, self-paced course independently. The one-hour course provides students an opportunity to reflect on their future health and wellness. Topics include the impacts of vaping on the body, why addiction happens, preparing the mindset for quitting, negative and positive stress, developing coping strategies, supports and learning about cessation resources.
Brief Intervention
Three-session intervention utilizing motivational interviewing and CBT, for tobacco, marijuana and alcohol-related incidents. Includes: building relationships, exploring relationships to substance, setting goals and supporting motivation for change. The third session is an optional parent session. There is a 1-6 month student follow-up session "check-in".
