Measure V (1997)

 
Approved by voters of Rancho Cordova in 1997, Measure V provided $10.4 million in general obligation bonds to renovate, rehabilitate and modernization classrooms and school facilities.  The district was able to secure additional funding from the State School Building Program for some of the modernization projects. 


Cordova Gardens Elementary School

Entire School:  Services provided to school include increased electrical capacity for technology, Local Area Network (LAN) wiring, providing Data Drops to all appropriate locations.  A new phone system that provides paging and voice mail with phones in every teaching area.  ADA modifications to provide disabled accessibility compliance were completed. An HVAC Energy Management System (EMS) was installed.  New exterior lighting was installed.  Replaced permanent building roofs with new.  New clock system was installed.   Site was wired and connected to local CATV provider.  Fire alarm and intrusions systems were replaced with new. 

Classrooms:  Classrooms received additional electrical outlets.  Classrooms were upgraded with new classroom furniture, casework, sinks, white boards, tackable vinyl wall covering, television cabinets with a catv drop, teacher and student data drops, carpets, floor tile (vct), drop ceilings with new lighting, new doors and hardware, window coverings and phones.

Administration:  The Administration building received new carpets, casework, vinyl wall covering, new HVAC, new ceilings in principal’s office and lobby/clerk area and new lighting through out building.  Staff restrooms were made ADA accessible and received all new fixtures.  A new telephone system that provides paging and voice mail was installed.

Library:  The Library was improved with new casework, lighting, Data, phone, carpet, new HVAC and vinyl wall covering.  A wall was removed to provide more space for the computer lab and conference areas. 

Student Restrooms:  Student restrooms received all new fixtures, sinks, toilets, urinals, partitions, floor finishes, painting and lighting and were made ADA compliant.

Multi/Kitchen:  Multi/Kitchen received a new HVAC system.  Multi received new lighting, flooring, painting, electrical upgrading.  Kitchen received new floor covering, ceiling, painting, Staff lounge and band room received new carpet, vinyl wall covering, phones, data, window covering and lighting.

Cordova Lane Elementary School

New clock system was installed.   All gravity vents and exhaust fans were replaced with new fans.  Door frames and window trim was painted.  Replaced permanent building roofs with new. 

Classrooms:  Classrooms received additional electrical outlets.  Classrooms were upgraded with new classroom furniture, casework, sinks, computer stations, white boards, tackable vinyl wall covering, television cabinets with a catv drop, teacher and student data drops, carpets replaced in kind, vct, dropped ceilings with new lighting, new doors and hardware, window coverings and phones.

Relocatable Classrooms:  Relocatable Classrooms received Data and phone system upgrades.

Administration:  The Administration building received new carpets, casework, workstations, vinyl wall covering, new HVAC, new ceilings new lighting through out building excepting staff lounge.  Staff restrooms were made ADA accessible.  All plumbing fixtures were replaced with new.  A new telephone system that provided paging and voice mail was installed.

Student Restrooms:  Student restrooms received all new partitions, floor finishes, painting and lighting and were made ADA compliant.

Cordova Meadows Elementary School

Entire School:  Services provided to school include increased electrical capacity for technology, Local Area Network (LAN) wiring, providing Data Drops to all appropriate locations.  A new phone system that provides paging and voice mail with phones in every teaching area.  ADA modifications to provide disabled accessibility compliance were completed. New HVAC systems that include an HVAC Energy Management System (EMS) were installed.  New interior and some exterior lighting was installed. Ceilings were patched and painted.  Fire alarm system was replaced with a new system.  Because of the fire in the B-Wing we were able to utilize and coordinate the insurance payment to modernize and improve the B-Wing.  Existing B-Wing mechanical room was converted to two staff restrooms.

Classrooms:  Classrooms received additional electrical outlets.  Classrooms were upgraded with new white boards, tackable vinyl wall covering, teacher and student data drops, carpets, vct, new lighting, new door hardware, window coverings and phones.  The Kindergarten also received new cubbies and restrooms were made ADA compliant.

Relocatable Classrooms:  Relocatable Classrooms received Data and phone system upgrades.

Administration:  The Administration building received new carpets, casework, workstations, vinyl wall covering, new HVAC, new lighting in conference room, nurses office and principals office.   The C-Wing building received a new roof.

Student Restrooms:  Student restrooms received all new fixtures, sinks, toilets, urinals, partitions, floor finishes, painting and lighting and were made ADA compliant.

Cordova Villa Elementary School

Cordova Villa was not modernized with Measure V funds.

Mather Heights Elementary School:

No Measure V funds used to modernize this site -  the following work was paid for from the State School Building Program and Developer Fees.

Entire School:  Services provided to school include increased electrical capacity for technology, Local Area Network (LAN) wiring, providing Data Drops to all appropriate locations.  A new phone system that provides paging and voice mail with phones in every teaching area.  ADA modifications to provide disabled accessibility compliance were completed.  Site was wired and connected to local CATV provider.  Fire alarm was replaced with new. New clock system was installed.  New HVAC systems that include an HVAC Energy Management System (EMS) were installed everywhere on campus except for existing system in cafeteria building.  Interior and exterior of site was painted.  Old roofs were replaced with new.  Old classroom furniture was replaced with new furniture.  A new storm and sewer drain systems were installed.  Parking lot was improved and paved.  Hard court was improved with new basketball standards and was sea coated.  Lead paint was abated throughout site.

Classrooms:  Classrooms received additional electrical outlets.  Classrooms were upgraded with new casework, sinks, white boards, tackable vinyl wall covering, television cabinets with a catv drop, teacher and student data drops, carpets, vct, dropped ceilings with new lighting, new doors and hardware, window coverings and phones.

Administration:  The Administration building received new carpets, sheet vinyl, vinyl wall covering, workstations and casework.   Office walls were removed to improve workflow.   Staff and Nurses restrooms were made ADA accessible.  All plumbing fixtures were replaced with new.  A new telephone system that provided paging and voice mail was installed.

Student Restrooms:  Student restrooms received new partitions, painting, floor covering and lighting and were made ADA compliant.

Library:  Library was converted to a media center.  Old stage and accompanying storerooms were removed to provide additional space.  New casework and workstations were provided.  New carpet, lighting, vinyl wall covering, phones and data were provided.

Landscape:  Landscape around site was improved with new lawns and a new Irrigation system.  New apparatus areas were provided for Kindergarten and East playground area.

Computer Lab:  A classroom was converted to a computer lab.

Peter J. Shields Elementary School

Entire School:  Services provided to school include increased electrical capacity for technology, Local Area Network (LAN) wiring, providing Data Drops to all appropriate locations.  New HVAC systems that include an HVAC Energy Management System (EMS) were installed.  A new phone system that provides paging and voice mail with phones in every teaching area. Fire alarm system was replaced with a new system.   ADA modifications (restrooms, drinking fountains) to provide disabled accessibility compliance were completed.  Site received new exterior lighting, new single ply roofing, gutters and downspouts. 

Administration:  The Administration building received new carpets, casework, workstations, vinyl wall covering, ceilings were repaired and painted, new lighting.  A new telephone system that provided paging and voice mail was installed.  Eliminated one set of exterior doors to improve space utilization.  Replaced other set of exterior doors with new doors and hardware.

Library:  The Library was improved with new, lighting, Data, phone, carpet, and vinyl wall covering.  A wall was removed to eliminate small offices and provide more space for the library.  A new divider wall was installed to create new computer lab.  Power and data was provided for thirty computer workstations.

Classrooms:  Classrooms received additional electrical outlets.  Classrooms were upgraded with new white boards, tackable vinyl wall covering, some new casework, teacher and student data drops, carpets, vct, new lighting, new door hardware (one wing of doors the window casing needs modification so that new locksets can be installed), window coverings and phones.  The Kindergarten also received new cubbies, casework and restrooms received new partitions and grab bars.

Relocatable Classrooms:  Relocatable Classrooms received Data and phone system upgrades.

Rancho Cordova Elementary School

Entire School:  Services provided to school include increased electrical capacity for technology, Local Area Network (LAN) wiring, providing Data Drops to all appropriate locations.  A new phone system that provides paging and voice mail with phones in every teaching area.  ADA modifications to provide disabled accessibility compliance were completed. An HVAC Energy Management System (EMS) was installed.  New exterior lighting was installed. Site was wired and connected to local CATV provider.  Fire alarm and intrusions systems were replaced with new.  Replaced permanent building roofs with new.

Library:  The Library was relocated from the Multi stage to classroom 17.  New casework and shelving was provided for the new library.

Student Restrooms:  Student restrooms received all new fixtures, sinks, toilets, urinals, partitions, floor finishes, painting and lighting and were made ADA compliant.

Multi/Kitchen:  Multi/Kitchen received a new HVAC system.  Multi received new lighting, flooring, painting, electrical upgrading.  Kitchen received new floor covering, ceiling, painting, shelving, plumbing, and a new built-in refrigeration/freezer unit.

Riverview Elementary School

Riverview was not modernized under Measure V.

White Rock Elementary School

Entire School:  Services provided to school include increased electrical capacity for technology, Local Area Network (LAN) wiring, providing Data Drops to all appropriate locations.  A new phone system that provides paging and voice mail with phones in every teaching area.  ADA modifications to provide disabled accessibility compliance were completed.  New exterior lighting was installed. Site was wired and connected to local CATV provider.  Fire alarm was replaced with new. New clock system was installed.   An HVAC Energy Management System (EMS) was installed. Door frames and window trim was painted.  Replaced permanent building roofs with new.

Multi/Kitchen:  Multi received new HVAC, ceiling, lighting, stage curtains and a Wheelchair lift for the stage to satisfy ADA requirements for access.

Williamson Elementary School

Entire School:  Services provided to school include increased electrical capacity for technology, Local Area Network (LAN) wiring, providing Data Drops to all appropriate locations.  New HVAC systems that include an HVAC Energy Management System (EMS) were installed.  A new phone system that provides paging and voice mail with phones in every teaching area. Fire alarm system was replaced with a new system.   ADA modifications to provide disabled accessibility compliance were completed.  Site received new exterior lighting, new single ply roofing. Repaired/ replaced roof decking due to dry rot.  A Contractor painted interior of site and exterior was painted by our Maintenance Department.

Administration:  The Administration building received new carpets, casework, workstations, door hardware, vinyl wall covering, ceilings were repaired and painted, new lighting.  A new telephone system that provided paging and voice mail was installed.  Restrooms were made ADA accessible.  Moved walls in Principal’s office to provide space for a restroom to be used by the Nurses office.Classrooms:  Classrooms received additional electrical outlets.  Classrooms were upgraded with new white boards, some new casework, teacher and student data drops, carpets, vct, new lighting, new door hardware, and phones.  The Kindergarten also received new cubbies; casework and restrooms received new partitions and grab bars.

Relocatable Classrooms:  Relocatable Classrooms received Data and phone system upgrades.Student Restrooms:  B-wing student restrooms received all new fixtures, sinks, toilets, urinals, partitions, floor finishes, painting and lighting and were made ADA compliant.  An existing mechanical room was converted to a staff restroom that is ADA compliant.  A-wing and E-wing were upgraded but fixtures were not replaced with new sinks, toilets, and urinals.

Mills Middle School

Entire School:  Services provided to school include increased electrical capacity for technology, Local Area Network (LAN) wiring, providing Data Drops to all appropriate locations.  A new phone system that provides paging and voice mail with phones in every teaching area.  ADA modifications to provide disabled accessibility compliance were completed. Site was wired and connected to local CATV provider.  Fire alarm was replaced with new. New clock system was installed.   All new HVAC equipment that included an Energy Management System (EMS) was installed. Old roofs were replaced with new single ply roofing.  Asbestos containing materials were abated. 

Administration:  The Administration building received new carpets, casework, workstations, vinyl wall covering, new ceilings and new lighting through out building. Attendance Office walls were reconfigured to improve workflow.   Staff and Nurses restrooms were made ADA accessible.  All plumbing fixtures were replaced with new.  A new telephone system that provided paging and voice mail was installed.

Classrooms:  Classrooms received additional electrical outlets.  Classrooms were upgraded with teacher and student data drops, interior painting, new lighting, new doors and hardware, window covering and phones were provided.

Student Restrooms:  Student restrooms in units C and D were made ADA compliant.

Library:  Library was upgraded with data drops, lighting, new doors and hardware, window covering, phones, carpet, vct, and conversation pit was filled in to provide more usable space.

Multi:  Multi Purpose room received new vct flooring, lighting, window coverings, stage curtains and a wheelchair lift to provide ADA access to the stage.

Gym/Locker rooms:  Gym/Locker rooms received new lighting and restrooms received new fixtures, partitions and were made ADA accessible.

Mitchell Middle School

Entire School:  Services provided to school include increased electrical capacity for technology, Local Area Network (LAN) wiring, providing Data Drops to all appropriate locations.  A new phone system that provides paging and voice mail with phones in every teaching area.  ADA modifications to provide disabled accessibility compliance were completed. Fire alarm was extended to meet current code. Interior surfaces were painted.  All new HVAC equipment with an Energy Management System (EMS) was installed. Old roofs were replaced with new single ply roofing.  Asbestos containing materials were abated.

Classrooms:  Classrooms received additional electrical outlets.  Classrooms were upgraded with teacher and student data drops.  Ballasts and lens were replaced to upgrade existing lighting.  New white boards, phones were provided.  Each classroom received a 2’x4’x6’ teacher’s cabinet and classrooms in the South Cluster also received a new sink and cabinet.

Administration:  The Administration building received new carpets, sheet vinyl and casework.  Partition walls were removed to improve workflow.   Staff and Nurses restrooms were made ADA accessible.  All plumbing fixtures were replaced with new.  A new telephone system that provided paging and voice mail was installed.

North and South Multi Purpose Rooms:  Multi Purpose rooms received new sheet vinyl floors.  Kitchen received new work – serving area and a new sheer wall.

Student Restrooms:  Two sets of student restrooms received new sinks, partitions, painting and lighting and were made ADA compliant.

Library:  Library received new whiteboards on all walls of library, vinyl wall coverings on one wall of each conference room, one wall of the stack room and one wall of the workroom.  All doors and frames were painted.  Building received data and phones.

Gymnasium:  Gymnasium received a wheelchair lift to provide ADA access to stage.  Structural support beam was repaired.  Gymnasium interior was painted.

Cordova High School

Entire School:  Services provided to school include increased electrical capacity for technology, Local Area Network (LAN) wiring, providing Data Drops to all appropriate locations.  A new phone system that provides paging and voice mail with phones in every teaching area.  ADA modifications to provide disabled accessibility compliance were completed.  Site was wired and connected to local CATV provider.  Fire alarm was replaced with new. New clock system was installed.  New HVAC systems that include an HVAC Energy Management System (EMS) were installed everywhere on campus except for existing system in cafeteria building.  Interior and exterior of site was painted.  Old roofs were replaced with new.  Old classroom furniture was replaced with new furniture.

Administration:  The Administration building staff restrooms were made ADA accessible.  A new telephone system that provided paging and voice mail was installed.  New lighting was installed. Walls were provided to enclose phone and data equipment.

Classrooms:  Classrooms received additional electrical outlets.  Classrooms were upgraded with teacher and student data drops, new lighting, white boards, new door hardware, window covering and phones were provided.  A-Wing Home Economics building received new vct flooring.  Some folding partition walls were replaced with permanent walls.

Locker Rooms:  Locker rooms received new plumbing fixtures in restrooms, phones, data in coach’s offices.  Locker areas were reconfigured for classroom and team areas with epoxy finishes on floors.

Student Restrooms:  Student restrooms (including stadium) received all new fixtures, sinks, toilets, urinals, partitions, floor finishes, painting and lighting and were made ADA compliant.

Library:  Library received data, phones and carpet. 

Little Theater:  Little Theater received new carpet, lighting, and platform area was removed to improve teaching space.  New practice rooms were added.

Cafeteria/Kitchen:  Cafeteria received a wheelchair lift to provide ADA access to the stage.  Restrooms were made ADA compliant. A new stage lighting system was installed.  Kitchen was remodeled and provided with new built-in freezer and refrigeration units.

Landscape:  Landscape around site was improved with new lawns.  Irrigation system was repaired and upgraded.  Concrete walkways and a patio area with benches were added to the central lawn area.

Kinney High School

Entire School:  Services provided to school include increased electrical capacity for technology, Local Area Network (LAN) wiring, providing Data Drops to all appropriate locations.  A new phone system that provides paging and voice mail with phones in every teaching area.  ADA modifications to provide disabled accessibility compliance were completed.  New exterior lighting was installed. Site was wired and connected to local CATV provider.  Fire alarm was replaced with new.  New HVAC systems that include an HVAC Energy Management System (EMS) were installed.  Replaced permanent building roofs with new.

Community Education Center was not modernized under Measure V.
