Measure C (2002)

Approved by voters of Folsom in 2002, Measure C provided $53 million in general obligation bonds to renovate, rehabilitate, modernization classrooms and build new school facilities.  The district was able to secure additional funding from the State School Building Program for many of the projects.

Blanche Sprentz Elementary School   (Measure C and State Building Program funds)

  • Repaired and/or replaced HVAC
  • Replaced interior finishes including floors, wall surfaces and ceilings
  • Installed new whiteboards, casework and cabinets
  • Upgraded the rest rooms including access compliance, toilets, sinks and partitions
  • Provided access compliance upgrades
  • Replaced all exterior doors and hardware
  • Repaired and/or replaced roofs as needed
  • Upgraded the electrical system and increased power capacity in classrooms to accommodate technology
  • Installed new telephones, clocks, bells, fire alarm and intrusion alarm
  • Installed new energy efficient lighting fixtures and controls
  • Repaired dry rot and termite damage as needed
  • Abated asbestos as needed
  • Replaced old furniture
  • Painted the exterior campus and repaired tile as needed
  • Replaced multipurpose room floor
  • Provided a computer/training lab
  • Installed new underground infrastructure and structured cabling
  • Upgraded active distribution equipment and network server
  • Deployed 56 new computers
  • Mounted LCD projectors

Carl Sundahl Elementary School

  • Replaced exterior siding

Empire Oaks Elementary School

  • Deployed 12 new computers

Folsom Hills Elementary School

  • Installed infrastructure for cable television
  • Replaced network server
  • Replaced structured cabling plant and active distribution equipment

Gold Ridge Elementary School

  • Placed two relocatable classrooms to house additional enrollment
  • Upgraded network server
  • Replaced active distribution equipment
  • Deployed 46 new computers

Natoma Station Elementary School

  • Replaced multipurpose flooring
  • Replaced network server
  • Replaced active distribution equipment

Oak Chan Elementary School

  • Constructed a new elementary school which included:

Theodore Judah Elementary School  (Measure C and State School Building Program funds)

  • Upgraded rest rooms including accessibility, toilets, sinks and partitions
  • Provided access compliance upgrades

  •   New gymnasium project included:
    • 14,000 square foot gymnasium with wood floor system
    • 2,600 square foot exercise room
    • 5,000 square foot of locker rooms
    • Staff and storage areas
  •   Site work project included:
    • Constructed a new pedestrian and bicycle path from the east side of the campus to the bike storage area for safety
    • Graded the eastern portion of the site, irrigated and landscaped to create a new 400-meter running track with a turf infield useable for field sports
    • Relocated portable buildings to a planned grouping near the rear of the campus
    • Converted of a relocatable to a restroom near the play fields
    • Added parking near the multipurpose building
    • Extended the student drop off lane
    • Landscaped the center of the campus to provide walkways between the buildings
    • Extended the automatic irrigation system to portions of the campus currently without irrigation
    • Added of lighting at the interior of the campus

Sutter Middle School  (Measure C and State School Building Program funds)

  • Converted Wing G to a cafeteria annex and art room
  • Refurbished kitchen and multipurpose room
  • Removed stage and replaced flooring
  • Added structured cabling
  • Upgraded active distribution equipment
  • Replaced server
  • Deployed 70 new computers

 Folsom High School  (Measure C and State School Building Program funds)

  • Constructed a new performing arts theater:
    • 18,600 square foot performing arts theater
    • 700 seats
    • Full stage and support facilities
  • Constructed a new athletic stadium which includes:
    • Football/soccer fields
    • Lighting
    • All-weather track
    • Grandstands seating 5,000
    • Concessions
    • Toilet building
  • Constructed a new field house
  • Upgraded fire alarm system
  • Installed four relocatable classrooms for added enrollment
  • Upgraded the administrative and curriculum network servers
  • Deployed 98 new computers

Vista del Lago High School  (Measure C and State School Building Program funds)

  • Constructed a new high school
    • 1,500 pupil capacity
    • Main and auxiliary gymnasiums
    • 13,300 square foot joint-use library with the City of Folsom
    • Swimming Pool
    • Practice football field with artificial turf and an all-weather track

Folsom Lake High School

  • Installed cable television infrastructure
  • Upgraded network server
  • Deployed 12 new computers
