Measure B (2002)
Approved by voters of Rancho Cordova in 2002, Measure B provided $49 million in general obligation bonds for improvements to existing schools in Rancho Cordova and construction of a new elementary school to serve new housing developments in southern Rancho Cordova. The district was able to secure additional funding from the State of California for some of the modernization projects and the construction of the new elementary school.
Cordova Gardens Elementary School: Work completed in 2007
- Replaced covered walkway roofing
- Replaced HVAC systems in classrooms
- Reconstructed roof framing required by the HVAC system upgrades
- Replaced suspended acoustical tile ceilings as necessary
- Provided access compliance upgrades to drinking fountains
- Remodeled the administration

Mather Heights Elementary School: In 2001, state funds and developer fees were used to provide vast improvements to this site. In 2003, Measure B provided these additional features to the campus:

Navigator Elementary School: Measure B, state funds and developer fees were used to construct this school in 2006.

Peter J Shields Elementary School: Work completed in 2007
- Refinished or replaced classroom casework

- Converted the HVAC system from a 2-pipe to a 4-pipe, replaced unit ventilators, repaired existing boilers and chillers not covered in contract

- Replaced roofing and repaired dry rot damage at the library, F-wing, D-wing south, B, C and E comfort stations.
