Vista del Lago High School Registration Policy
Effective for the 2025/26 School Year

Space is limited at Vista del Lago High School. No Interdistrict Transfer Permits will be permitted. Once Vista del Lago reaches capacity, students will be redirected to Folsom High School. Please note - acceptance into Vista del Lago does not guarantee a parking space.

Students enrolled in Vista del Lago High School, as either resident, School Choice, or on an Interdistrict Transfer Permit (ITP), in the 2024/25 school year will be allowed to finish their educational career at that school, provided that they remain within the boundaries or at the same residence at time of School Choice or ITP approval and adhere to the terms of the School Choice or ITP Agreement.

2025/26 registrations at Vista del Lago High School will be processed in the following order:

  1. Current students in grades 9-11, continuing from FCUSD schools, including students who were redirected to Folsom High, who live within the Vista del Lago attendance area, and who have completed and been accepted through the PowerSchool Online Registration process by the registration closing date for the 2025/26 school year (March 31, 2025), will have the first priority and will be admitted in order based upon the PowerSchool Online Registration date/time stamp. All FCUSD students who miss the registration deadline will be placed in priority status number 5.

If space remains at any grade level after processing the continuing FCUSD students residing within the Vista del Lago attendance area, registrations will be processed based on the following priorities and electronic submission date, to fill that space:

  1. Incoming students in grade 9, continuing from FCUSD schools, who live within the Vista del Lago attendance area that provides one verified proof of residency, and who have completed and been accepted through the PowerSchool Online Registration process by the registration closing date for the 2025/26 school year  (March 31, 2025) will be admitted in order based upon the PowerSchool Online Registration date/time stamp. Of this group of students, priority will be given to students with a sibling who will be attending Vista del Lago in the 2025/26 school year.
     
  2. Students not currently enrolled in an FCUSD school in 2024/25, but residing within the Vista del Lago attendance area may be admitted. This includes new students and students returning from non-FCUSD schools who reside in the Vista del Lago attendance area. Of this group of students, priority will be given to students with a sibling who will be attending Vista del Lago in the 2025/26 school year.
     
  3. Students of full-time district employees (certificated and classified).
     
  4. Students who submit a school choice application by the deadline. School choice applications will be reviewed and approved or denied based on grade level, program, or school availability. Priority will be given to current Vista del Lago students and their siblings. If there are more requests for a particular school than there are spaces available, a random drawing shall be held from the applicant pool as per BP 5116.1 and AR 5116.1. A waiting list shall be established to indicate the order in which applicants may be accepted if openings occur during the year.

Note: For priorities 1 and 2, students who move out of or leave the Vista del Lago attendance area may continue their education at Vista del Lago for that current school year only. Those students would then follow the above-listed priorities.
