Dear FCUSD Community,
We are delighted to share the November edition of In the Loop with the Supt! featuring the mighty Rockets from Riverview STEM Academy. From kindergarteners learning to code, to fifth graders gearing up for robotics, students are combining science, technology, and creative problem-solving to learn and innovate. Enjoy seeing these young scholars in action!
Board Briefs
At the Board meeting last evening, staff presented the Fall Vital Signs Data Report with robust data reports covering topics such as:
- Recent CAASPP scores
- English learner progress
- Attendance rates
- Suspension rates
- Discipline rates
- Operation Graduation
Our District focus continues to be on cycles of improvement, and this data informs our decision-making process so we may replicate processes that contribute to success and allocate resources to areas of deficiencies, so all student needs are met.

Updates
As we head towards the Thanksgiving break, take a moment to enjoy a couple of positive stories that took place this week!
Ruby Bridges Walk to School Day
Students and families at Mangini Ranch Elementary School joined together and walked to school to pay tribute to civil rights icon Ruby Bridges, who made history as the first African American child to desegregate an all-white school in New Orleans back in 1960. Ruby Bridges Walk to School Day marked the 63rd anniversary of this historic civil rights movement.

Robert Mange Recreational Center Dedication Ceremony
The naming of the Robert Mange Recreational Center at Folsom Middle School took place this week to honor Robert (Bob) Mange who has been a cornerstone of the community, leaving an indelible impact on the lives of numerous students and families. A teacher and administrator for FCUSD he retired in 2006 but continues to be a substitute teacher and administrator in our District. As a reminder, our schools will be closed all next week from 11/20 - 11/24, and the District office will be closed Wednesday - Friday, 11/22 -.11/24.
