Board Briefs and Updates, Jan 10
January 10, 2024

Dear FCUSD Community: Two Special Board Meetings took place over the last several days. Below are summaries of these meetings.

Saturday, January 6, Special Board Meeting

As previously announced, Superintendent Dr. Sarah Koligian will retire on June 30, 2024. The District will be using the professional services of a specialized education search firm to search for the next Superintendent.  At the Special Board Meeting on Saturday, January 6 the Board evaluated four executive search firms who had submitted requests for proposals to the District. The Board chose the search firm McPherson & Jacobson, L.L.C.

During the upcoming Board Meeting on January 18, the search firm McPherson & Jacobson, L.L.C, will provide a review of the timeline and process for the Superintendent search.

The District will keep our community informed as this process unfolds.

Monday, January 8, Board Study Session on Facilities - Part 3

Monday night’s Special Meeting was the third study session in which staff presented information regarding new school construction in the SFID #3 area. As a reminder SFID #3 includes the new building area south of HWY 50 and covers Folsom, Rancho Cordova, and the unincorporated area.

The presentation staff shared that facilitated the discussion may be found HERE.

As this was a study session, the meeting was for information and discussion only.

Summaries and information from previous study sessions on this topic may be found below:

The District realizes this topic is of high interest to our community and is committed to keeping our community informed. This message and all community messages are housed on our website under: www.fcusd.org/messages
