FCUSD response to Folsom PD arrest
February 1, 2024

FCUSD Community,

Today we learned that Folsom PD arrested Peining (Peter) Wang. Folsom PD’s statement on Facebook is as follows:

Yesterday afternoon, we shared with you a call for service regarding suspicious circumstances in the office of Blanche Sprentz Elementary School that occurred on Monday morning. Peining Wang, 62 of Folsom, was taken into custody at that time for an arrest warrant unrelated to the call for service.

Wang was arraigned for the charges related to the warrant yesterday afternoon. As a part of the arraignment, Wang was placed on pretrial probation with stay away orders from all Folsom Cordova Unified Schools, and prohibited from possessing firearms.

This morning, School Resource Officers and Detectives responded to Wang’s residence for a probation search. Officers recovered three firearms, multiple loaded and unloaded magazines as well as additional rounds of ammunition.

Wang was booked at the Sacramento County Main Jail for a violation of his probation terms along with multiple firearms related charges.

District leadership has and continues to work closely with our law enforcement partners on criminal issues that affect our schools, students, and staff, and has partnered closely with Folsom PD on the activities of Mr. Wang and our schools.

FCUSD is in the process of seeking a restraining order against Mr. Wang for all FCUSD schools and facilities. Attached is a picture of Mr. Wang. If in the future, he is observed near or on any campus or District facility, we advise staff and families to contact local law enforcement. As always, if you are concerned for immediate safety call 911.
