On Thursday, August  31, after school, an allegation of a serious nature was made against employee, Gary S. Jiminez Jr., who had been working at Folsom Middle School since April 17, 2023. He was immediately put on administrative leave on Friday, September 1, and terminated from employment on Monday, September 4. The subject also worked at Oak Chan Elementary School through a third-party vendor from November 17, 2022 - January 10, 2023.

Upon learning of the allegations on Thursday, August 31 the District immediately notified Folsom Police who took the lead on the investigation. District personnel have fully cooperated with our law enforcement partners and complied with law enforcement’s request to not share further information while they completed their investigation.

We learned today that an arrest has been made for lewd acts against a minor. This is an active and ongoing criminal investigation. Pursuant to California law, during the hiring process all employees of our school district go through a criminal background check through the Department of Justice (DOJ) before they are hired.

These allegations are disturbing and upsetting. Folsom Cordova is reaching out directly to families at Folsom Middle School and Oak Chan Elementary. The District will have mental health counselors available for any students who need support.
