FCUSD Message - Earn Your Teaching Credential

Dear FCUSD Community,
Earn your teaching credential through this grant funded program!
Do you have your bachelor’s degree and want to be a teacher? Now is the time! FCUSD along with the Sacramento County Office of Education (SCOE) is pleased to present a new pathway to completing your teaching credential through the SCOE Teacher Residency Program.
Program Highlights
- Three options for Teaching Credentials:
- Multiple Subject focused on Transitional Kindergarten
- Education Specialist: Mild to Moderate Support Needs
- Education Specialist: Extensive Support Needs
- Up to $50,000 in incentives
- Paid position as a paraprofessional while in the program
- Full tuition provided ($18,000-$24,000)
- Assessment fees paid ($300-$800)
- Induction tuition provided ($1,500-$2,500)
- Golden State Teacher Grant ($20,000)
- Intense clinical practice (student teaching) alongside a mentor teacher for entire year with gradual release of teaching responsibilities during the school year
- 13-month preliminary credential program with Pacific Oaks College
- Teacher position after successful completion of program with Induction tuition provided
