Update: Message to the FCUSD Community
December 8, 2020
Dear FCUSD Community:
The District’s COVID-19 Dashboard has been updated and includes a new feature; the number of students and staff who are currently off-site due to being on quarantine. You will also notice that we have streamlined the reporting to reflect only active COVID-19 positive cases and current individuals in quarantine. Please take a look: www.fcusd.org/COVID
IMPORTANT: Any staff or student with on-site presence is asked to quarantine if they live with, or have come into close contact with a COVID positive individual. Click here to see the guidelines for quarantining.
It’s also important to note that:
- All reported numbers on the Dashboard are current as of Tuesday morning of each week
- Following the weekly Tuesday numbers update, subsequently reported numbers will be included in the upcoming week's Tuesday update
The District made these changes to the Dashboard to better align with the criteria being used to determine if a school is able to stay open or needs to consider moving temporarily to full Distance Learning. Those metrics are:
- Public Health's criteria for potential closure if over 5% of individuals test COVID positive
- The Board of Trustees' approved criteria that if 10% of staff are out, due to COVID or due to quarantining, an audit will be triggered to deterine if the site has the capacity to operate
