Update: Message to the FCUSD Community

December 14, 2020

Dear FCUSD Community:

With less than a week until Winter Break, there are several important messages to share with you. Please keep reading for information, regarding COVID-19 screening, workplace regulations, updates to the COVID-19 Dashboard, and upcoming Board Meeting details.

COVID-19 mandatory screening

In order to help keep everyone safe, students and staff must self-screen for COVID-19 symptoms, each day before arriving at school or the workplace.

All staff must use the Frontline screening tool.

Parents / Guardians must screen their students using either of the following options:

Following the screening, please communicate with the school if your student has symptoms, a COVID positive test results, or known exposures to a COVID positive individual.

Cal/OSHA regulation

On November 30, Cal/OSHA issued a new regulation called the Cal/OSHA Emergency Temporary Standards. This is a workplace safety order and not a public health order. Please keep reading for more information.

The new regulation from Cal/OSHA states that if three people, on a worksite, test positive for COVID-19, then all staff shall be surveillance tested for COVID until there is a 14 day period with no evidence of COVID.

Please note:

  • According to Cal/OSHA, three people testing positive for COVID can include students and/or staff
  • Cal/OSHA requires FCUSD to only test employees

As we navigate guidelines and regulations, please know that the District is deeply committed to the health and safety of all staff and students.

COVID-19 Dashboard updating on Wednesday

Due to the time it requires our nursing staff to speak to staff and families and implement the contact tracing steps, moving forward, we will be making updates to the COVID-19 Dashboard on Wednesdays, beginning December 16.

We are committed to providing accurate information, and we appreciate your patience as the FCUSD health team works hard to keep staff, families, and students informed and safe.
