Update: Message to the FCUSD Community

April 14, 2021

Dear FCUSD community: Please see the message below which includes updates to COVID-19 guidelines and information for participating in tomorrow night’s Regular Board meeting.

COVID-19 Updates:

The FCUSD COVID-19 Dashboard has been updated. Please visit: www.fcusd.org/COVID

Changes to quarantine duration:

The time to quarantine, if exposed to a COVID positive individual, has been reduced from 14 days to 10 days as set forth by California Department of Public Health (CDPH) and Cal/OSHA requirements. Detailed information on this and more can be found on the District’s COVID-19 Safety Plan, which has recently been updated.

All school websites have posted the updated COVID-19 Safety Plan at the top right-hand side of the school’s website. Please visit your school’s website to view or by clicking here.

Vaccines

The County continues to expand access and eligibility for the vaccine. To see the current status of eligible individuals and a list of places offering the vaccine, please visit Sacramento County Public Health’s website here.

Regular Board Meeting, Thursday, April 15

Closed Session: 5:00 p.m.; Open Session: 6:00 p.m.

The full agenda, instructions for viewing on the District’s YouTube Channel and on Zoom, and instructions for participating in public comments can be found on our website:

www.fcusd.org/virtualboardmeeting

Agenda items include:

  •  Approve the 2021-2022 School Year Instructional Models and Schedules

Rationale: With changing guidelines, and positive direction of relaxing restrictions, plans for opening the 2021-2022 school year in a traditional schedule is the current direction of the district.  In addition to traditional bell schedules, the opening of Folsom Cordova Virtual Academy is in progress in order to offer options for students wanting an alternative to in-person instruction.

Approve 2021-2022 Budget Guidelines

  • Adopt Resolution 04-15-21-27: Resolution Supporting People of Asian Ancestry

Written public comments can be submitted now, using the Google Public Comment Card Form link, found on our website, and all written comments will be given to the Board for review by 3:00 p.m. on Thursday, April 15. This link will close by 3:00 p.m., Thursday, April 15.

Public comments can be made during the Board Meeting, via Zoom, as space allows, by using the “raised hand” feature. Due to constraints on our Zoom account, the maximum number of participants in the Zoom room is 300.
