What is the Community Readers Program?

The FCUSD Community Readers program is designed to provide additional reading support for students in grades 1–3, while nurturing their confidence and enthusiasm for reading. Volunteers spend 30 minutes once a week, reading with a student and listening to them read aloud. Your time can make a big difference in a child’s literacy journey!

 

 

 

 

Program Highlights:

  • Tuesdays and/or Wednesdays, 4:30–5:00 p.m.
  • Locations: All Elementary ASES Sites – Cordova Gardens, Cordova Meadows, Cordova Villa, Peter J. Shields, Rancho Cordova, White Rock, Williamson
  • Fall Session: Sept 9 – Dec 12 | Spring Session: Jan 12 – May 8
  • No teaching experience required – tip sheets and FCUSD staff support provided.
