Update: Message to the FCUSD Community, Oct 6

October 6, 2021

Dear FCUSD Community: Please read below for today’s updates.

The COVID-19 Dashboard has been updated. Please visit www.fcusd.org/COVID

High School students may opt to change grades on transcript

As the district has previously shared, AB 104 has allowed students enrolled in high school during the 2020-21 school year to change their letter grades to Pass/No Pass (P/NP) if they so desired. The passage of AB 104 also opened the door to a discussion regarding students who have reached out to their high school wanting to change the Credit/No Mark (CR/NM) grades from the 2019-20 school year to letter grades.

At the direction of the Board of Trustees, high school counselors will work with interested students who want to change 2019-20 CR/NM grades to letter grades on their official high school transcripts. Further information about this grade change process will be provided by your student’s school site. It is important for students and parents to understand that changing CR/NM grades to letter grades will impact the student’s overall GPA.

The counseling staff will first work with this year’s seniors interested in changing their 2019-20 grades. Current seniors have until October 15 to submit a request to change the grades on their transcript. Counselors will work with interested Juniors regarding grade changes after winter break. Please contact your site administrator or counseling office for more information.
