FCUSD Message to the Community, Feb 9

Dear FCUSD Community:
The Covid-19 Dashboard has been updated. Please visit: www.fcusd.org/COVID
Masks
This week, the Governor announced plans to end the statewide indoor mask mandate, effective February 16. Sacramento County Public Health intends to follow suit and will rescind both local Health Orders (the Order requiring indoor masking and the Order requiring public meetings to occur virtually).
The rescission of the mask Orders will not directly impact schools as the California Department of Public Health (CDPH) Order regarding face coverings still requires masking in schools and child care settings per their most recent school-specific guidance.
CDPH has indicated they are actively reviewing their schools’ guidance and we may see some updates in the coming weeks, but we do not yet have an indication of what those updates may entail. We will keep you posted.
FCUSD looks forward to returning to pre-COVID school experiences as soon as possible. As a gentle reminder, we are obligated to follow all state and county rules on masking and will not pursue either stricter or lessor health safety measures than those given to us by public health. Our continued focus is on excellent instruction and educational opportunities for our students.
If you wish to express your questions and concerns for state-mandated health orders to the California Department of Public Health, you may access their portal HERE
