Update: Message to the FCUSD Community
April 16, 2021
Dear FCUSD Community: Please see today’s Board Briefs and Updates.
New FCUSD Administrators announced
At the Board meeting yesterday evening, two new principals were announced.
We are pleased to welcome Tarik McFall to the FCUSD family as the new Sutter Middle School principal. Mr. McFall comes to us from Sacramento City USD, where he has most recently been the principal for Albert Einstein Middle School. Learn more about Mr. McFall here.
Kimberly Walker will be the principal for the District’s K-12 virtual academy that will offer 100% virtual learning, starting next school year 2021-22. Mrs. Walker has served as a principal for the California Virtual Academies and currently teaches at Williamson Elementary. To read Mrs. Walker’s full bio, please click here.
Congratulations to both administrators on their new roles!
2021-22 School year to follow traditional bell schedule format
Board approved staff’s recommendation for the 2021-2022 school year instructional models and schedules to be full, five days a week. To view the presentation with examples of daily schedules, please see the attachment.
With the changing guidelines from public health and the positive direction of relaxing restrictions, we are excited to see our students return to campus in the new school year for full-time, in-person instruction. Please note, that we will continue to abide by all safety guidelines set forth by public health, and are encouraged by the positive outcomes of health and safety being reported by the state.
In addition to traditional bell schedules, the opening of a virtual academy is in progress in order to offer options for students wanting an alternative to in-person instruction.
More information on the virtual academy and opportunities for enrollment will be provided very soon.
