Do to our increased growth and limited facilities, Blanche Sprentz Elementary will no longer be able to offer an all-day kindergarten program for the 2019-2020 school year.

Instead, BSE will be offering an AM/PM and SLIP programs for 2019-2020 school year. Due to this change in programming, you be receiving a Kindergarten Placement Preference form.  Every effort will be made to help our BSE families by placing students in an appropriate session. However, balancing classes is necessary, so not all requests may be possible to fill.

Please note: Those students who attend the before and after school program at BSE must be placed in an AM session.

To ensure the kids in our community have full bellies over the weekend, Blessings in a Backpack sends them home on Fridays with backpacks full of satisfyng and nutritional food.

The FCUSD is no exception to these sad statistics. There are Blanche Sprentz students who benefit from this program.

Their pantry is currently close to empty, so they need our help! Our very own student council wants to help our friends. Please have all donations in by March 29, 2019. Each teacher has a paper bag to collect these items.

Here are the items we need:

Canned veggies, Tuna, Top Ramen, Cup of Noodles, soup, Fruit cups, Pop Tarts, Granola bars, Pudding Cups.

  • Absence

    School Attendance

Please notify the office every day that your child is absent from school.  To report an absence, call 916-294-9110 and hit 1 for the attendance line.

If you have seen a medical professional, please bring us a doctor's note to have your child's absence medically verified.

Your student is allowed 10 days of parent verified absence due to an illness. After the 10 days, you will need to bring in a doctor's note to clear the absence.

Vacations are not excused absences. Vacation and absences other than illness are considered unexcused and will generate truancy letters.

If you will be going on vacation, try to plan them on school holidays. If you not able to, and will be gone 5 days or longer, please come into the office and inquire about an Independent Study Agreement.
