Notice of Election - November 5, 2024 General Election

• On June 9, 2020, the Sacramento County Committee on School District Organization unanimously approved the district-area map submitted by the FCUSD Board of Education. This approval transitioned the District from an at-large election to a by-trustee area election for future elections.

  Only voters residing in their residential Area on the new trustee-area map will vote for the open seats and during Area elections.

  2024- Area 2 (Tim Hooey) and Area 4 (Chris Clark)

  2026- Area 1 (Kara Lofthouse), Area 3 (David Reid), and Area 5 (Jennifer Laret)

  NOTICE OF DISTRICT ELECTION IN THE FOLSOM CORDOVA UNIFIED SCHOOL DISTRICT

  Notice is hereby given that a General District Election will be held in this district on November 5, 2024. The offices for which candidates may declare their candidacy are:
  Members of the Governing Board, two (2) positions: Area 2 and Area 4

  Qualifications: Each candidate must meet the following qualifications for office as specified in the principal act or code under which this district is organized:

  Any person, regardless of sex, who is 18 years of age or older, a citizen of the state, a resident of the school district, a registered voter, and who is not disqualified by the Constitution or laws of the state from holding a civil office, is eligible to be elected or appointed a member of a governing board of a school district without further qualifications.

  Code Reference: Education Code section 35107(a).

  Official declarations of candidacy for eligible candidates desiring to file for any of the elective offices may be obtained from the office of the Registrar of Voters at 7000 65th Street, Suite A, Sacramento, CA 95823-2315, on and after July 15, 2024, and must be filed not later than 5:00 p.m. on August 9, 2024. However, if a declaration of candidacy for an incumbent is not filed by August 9, 2024, any person other than the incumbent shall have until 5:00 p.m. on August 14, 2024, to file a declaration of candidacy for such office.

  Appointment to each elective office will be made by the supervising authority as prescribed by Elections Code §10515 in the event there are no candidates or an insufficient number of candidates for such office and a petition for an election is not filed within the time prescribed by Elections Code §10515: that is, by 5:00 p.m. on August 14, 2024.
