Welcome to Mr. Green's Home Page!
NOTE: COURSE EXPECTATIONS LOCATED IN "CLASS HANDOUTS" LINKS FOR EACH GRADE LEVEL.
(NOTE: USING NEW TEXTBOOKS/MATERIALS MAY CAUSE ME TO CHANGE HOW I USE AND SCORE THE NOTEBOOKS.)
Regardless of which grade level your child is in, my classes require that students maintain a History Notebook that includes three types of work: Book Notes, Class Notes, and Other Attachments. In general, when a student is assigned work to be completed in the notebook, the student receives a stamp in their notebook the next day if the work is complete and reflects a legitimate effort. During the first trimester, each stamp is worth 1 point. During the second trimester, the value of each stamp increases to 3 points, and increases again to 5 points in the third trimester. I try to keep a running count of how many stamps they should have posted on the home page for each grade level. If a student is missing more than a couple of stamps from their notebook, that might indicate a problem completing homework. Notebooks are not collected and stamps are not counted until the end of the trimester. With this in mind, please remind your child that it is their responsibility to protect and take care of their notebook and to see Mr. Green right away if there is a problem that might affect the stamps.
Use a spiral notebook with the heavier spirals. Make sure the inserted paper sheet size is 11 inches by 8 1/2 inches (see picture).
