  •  i REVISED-Student Schedule Six Period Day TO START 9-21-20

    Hello Sutter Families,

Please read this message so you are aware of the changes to our Monday schedule beginning Monday, September 21st.

Mondays are complete, full days of school. While the all-class synchronous time is 20 minutes, the expectation is for robust, instructional engagement the entire day. This includes teacher collaboration time in order to develop lessons that are customized for online instruction, as well as professional development and training. Additionally, students will have opportunities to connect with teachers and peers in ways previously not available. For our most at-risk students, teachers will have more time for direct student outreach, small group intervention, and extra supports. Students will have opportunities to collaborate on group projects or co-curricular activities. These activities which are normalized during a traditional school year, now have additional opportunity to take place during the Monday school day.

I have attached the NEW schedule for the week including the change to Mondays.

    •     The change to Monday schedules begins on September 21st.
    •     This change in schedule was created in order to reduce student screen time, allow our teachers more flexibility in providing instruction, support, direct student outreach and lesson preparation.
    •     During the additional time on Mondays teachers may create opportunities for individualized, small group and whole group instruction.
    •     Students can use the time to work on course work, participate in co-curricular activities such as student government, meet with other support staff such as counselors, interact with their peers, etc.

Thank you for your continued support and understanding,
