• Welcome to the Riverview STEM Academy Book Club! 

     

    Made possible by the generous support of our PTA and the persistence of Principal Powell, the idea behind our Book Club is simple: 

    have a small group of students read the same book and meet each week to talk about it. No grades; no pressure; just for the love of reading!  

     

     

    Interested? Here are some quick details: 

    • The Club will run in cycles throughout the year, with each cycle alternating  between 2nd / 3rd graders and 4th / 5th graders. 
    • Each cycle will meet weekly and will run 5-7 weeks, depending on the length of the book. 
    • Each cycle will be capped at 10 students. 
    • Each participant will be loaned a copy of the book, to be returned at the last meeting.

    Please fill out the correct Sign Up Form below and then wait for confirmation of enrollment (the cap may have already been reached). Upon enrollment, you will be instructed to submit a standard Activity Permission Form to the Office BEFORE the cycle begins. 

     

     

    2022-2023 School Year 

     

    ** Wednesdays 2:55-3:40pm **

     

    Cycle 1:  2nd / 3rd grade. Sign-up opens 8/31/2022 at 3pm.   Cycle 1 is now full. If you didn't make it, mark your calendar for Cycle 3 signups on 1/11/2023. 

    Meeting Dates: Wednesdays: 10/12, 10/19, 10/26, 11/2, 11/9, 11/16 = 6 meetings.  

    Title: "Justin and the Best Biscuits in the World"

    Cycle 2:  4th / 5th grade. Sign-up opens 11/2/2022 at 3pm.  Cycle 2 is now full. If you didn't make it, mark your calendar for Cycle 4 signups on 2/15/2023.

     

    Meeting Dates: Wednesdays: 1/ 4, 1/11, 1/18, 1/25, 2/1, 2/8 = 6 meetings

    Title: "Crenshaw"

    ** NOTE: This book deals with the topic of homelessness, though in an incredibly gentle way. **

    NOTE: Students who have already participated in a cycle this school year may sign up for another cycle but will automatically be put on the wait list. This is to help ensure that as many students as possible have a chance to join each year. Thank you for your understanding.
