• Basic Jump Roping Skills

     

    1.Keep your feet close together when jumping

    2.Jump on the midsoles of your feet and land softly

    3.Keep your jumping height low (½” - 1” off the ground)

    4.Keep your knees slightly bent at all times

    5.Maintain a tall, neutral spine

    6.Keep your head up, chest up, and head looking forward

    7.Keep your shoulders pulled back and your elbows held down and back

    8.Keep your hands along the midline of your body (along that string)

    9.Use your wrists to turn the rope (not your elbows or shoulders)

     

    Forward Basic Jump

     

    1. Have jump rope behind your heels

    2. Turn jump rope with your wrists over your head going forward

    3. Jump the rope before it hits the ground

    4. Maintain a rythmic motion by countinously turning the rope forward

    5. Jump  one jump for every turn

    6. Jump two times ( double bounce) for every turn

     

    Reverse Jump Roping 

     

    1. Have jump rope in front of your feet

    2. Turn jump rope with your wrists over your head going backwards

    3. Jump the rope before it hits the ground

    4. Maintain a rythmic motion by countinously turning the rope backwards

    5. Jump  one jump for every turn

    6. Jump two times ( double bounce) for every turn
