Antigone is a play. It is a Greek tragedy written by Sophocles in 441 BCE. The plot revolves around the burial of a traitorous brother after a civil war following the death of Oedipus. Oedipus's sons, Eteocles and Polyneices, battle for power and kill each other, so that leaves their uncle, Creon to rule over the city of Thebes.
