Hello my name is Mrs. Salgado.  I have been teaching PE here at Folsom Middle for 14 years .  I absolutely love my job and the extraordinary people I am lucky enough to work with.  I am currently part of the Positive Behavior Intervention Team, Challenge Success group, a Track Coach and I am an advisor for the WEB Leaders. There are great things to come from both of these programs this year!
I grew up in Fair Oaks and graduated from Del Campo High School.  A soccer scholarship led me to play soccer for the University of San Francisco where I earned my BA in Exercise and Sports Science.  After graduating I attended National University where I received my teaching credential in Physical Education and a Masters in Multicultural Education.

I have two beautiful athletic girls. Makena graduated Vista del Lago last December and Macy is in 10th grade!  My wonderful husband of 22 years works in the IT department for Sutter Health.  My girls love animals so we have two dogs named Bubba and Lila a rubber snake named Cornelius and a fish.
When I am not at work I enjoy camping with my family and friends, soccer, golf, running, reading, puzzles and just plain hanging with my family and friends.

My idea of the perfect teacher is one who inspires learning in addition to just relating the required facts. I believe that each child is a unique individual who needs a secure, caring, and stimulating atmosphere in which to grow and mature emotionally, intellectually, physically, and socially. It is my desire as an educator to help students meet their fullest potential in physical education by providing an environment that is safe, supports risk-taking, and invites a sharing of ideas.  This will require a certain amount of creativity, enthusiasm, and motivation by me, the teacher. Certainly this is a tall order for anyone in a profession on a daily basis. However, considering that children are our future, the effort is well worth it!
