I am Doug Pajer and I am very fortunate to be a mathematics teacher at FMS. This is my 28th year teaching math here, and the students and staff are definitely a pleasure to work with. I grew up in the Roseville area, graduated from Del Oro H.S., then earned my B.S. degree in Mathematics at the University of San Francisco. In 1992, I finished my credential and Masters at UC Davis. I have been teaching here ever since.
I have 3 amazing kids: Rachel (19 yrs. old), Jacob (17), and Kailyn (14). Rachel is in her second year at Cal Poly SLO, Jacob a senior at FHS, and Kailyn a freshman at FHS. We also have a very big dog, Duncan (8 yrs old), who is 1/2 yellow lab and 1/2 polar bear (actually 1/2 Great Pyrenees). I have been a resident of Folsom for the past 27 years, and our family definitely enjoys our wonderful town and all that it has to offer.
Other than spending time with my beautiful family, my main interests are sports and the outdoors. I played little league baseball as a kid and a lot of organized basketball as a college student and adult. I am a runner, so I ran cross country and track in high school and college. I have been the cross country coach for FMS for the past 17 years and track coach the last 3 years, and I have competed in 2 marathons and several triathlons. I enjoy many forms of exercise, including biking, swimming, kayaking, and basketball. I enjoy water and snow skiing, camping, hiking and backpacking, and when I see a stream or lake I have to fish it. I am a fan of the Sac Kings, Oakland Raiders, and LA Dodgers.
I am looking forward to getting to know my students this school year, and I hope to instill in them an appreciation for math. Please let me know if there is anything else I could do to help your child be successful this year.
