Congratulations to the CTE students that qualified to compete at the 57th SkillsUSA State Conference this April!
A total of 99 students from Cordova, Folsom and Vista del Lago High Schools that qualified in the Regional Competition to participate at the state level!
Students qualified for the state competition in 33 different competitions and placed at the top of each event.
- 1st Place - 22 students
- 2nd Place - 12 students
- 3rd Place - 8 students
- 4th Place - 5 students
- 5th Place - 3 students
The competitive events included:

Students from Cordova and Kinney High Schools participated in the FCCLA State Leadership Conference in Riverside, CA. One student qualified to compete at the National Conference in the Food Innovations event and two other students will be attending the conference as Regional Officers. Congratulations to the students and teachers!
Congratulations to the CTE Students and Teachers for their success at the SkillsUSA CA State Conference last week in Ontario, CA. Forty-five students and five CTE Teachers from CHS, FHS and VdLHS traveled together by charter bus to the conference and had a great time!
Three students earned a Gold Award and qualified to participate in the SkillsUSA National Conference in Atlanta, GA. The events included Principles of Engineering, (Nicholas - Vista del Lago High School), CNC 3-Axis Milling Programmer (Grayson - Folsom High School) and 3-D Visualization and Animation (Srikar and Jayden - Folsom High School).
Additionally, Mrs. Livia Castro, Engineering Teacher from VdLHS, received the Region 4 Advisor of The Year Award!
Chapters from Folsom and Vista del Lago High Schools received the Quality Chapter Award, Chapter of Distinction Bronze Level Award, and brought home $1200 Chapter Award!
Congratulations to two student members of Cordova High School’s Family, Career and Community Leaders of America (FCCLA) chapter for receiving gold and silver awards at the 2022 FCCLA National Leadership Conference in San Diego, CA. The students had an exceptional experience and earned the following awards, certificates and designations.

Students in the Cordova High School's International Baccelaurete Career Programme (IB-CP) Patient Care Pathway participated in the 2022 HOSA CA State Leadership Conference in Long Beach on March 23-27. Here are images from the amazing conference!
The virtual 2021-2022 SkillsUSA Fall Leadership Conference was offered on three different Saturdays. The theme this year is Future in Gear. We had students from Cordova, Folsom and Cordova High Schools participate and plan events for the new year. Congratulations to the students and advisors from Cordova, Folsom and Vista del Lago High Schools.

Additionally, the Folsom High School Charter was recognized for their achievements and honored with the Silver Chapter of Distinction Award. The award was earned from their participation in the SkillsUSA Chapter Excellent Program.
Students from the International Baccelaureate Patient Care Programme (IB-CP) qualified to participate in the CA State Conference to be held in Long Beach, CA. Congratulations to the students and Dr. Mahaffey!
On March 20, 2021 the Agriculture Academy students from Cordova High School participated in the Modesto Junior College Virtual Field Day Training Event. Students competing in the Cooperative Marketing Exam, Best Informed Greenhand(BIG) exam as well as a Veterinary Science team. This was the first competition for the Veterinary Science team. We are pleased to announce the following award winners:

At the Tulelake FFA Field Day, schools from all over the nation competed in a variety of FFA career development events. Students participated in the Agriculture Cooperative Marketing competition (a very popular business strategy amongst agricultural companies that reduces risk and maximizes profit). FFA members took a test to exhibit their knowledge about sound business structures and Cooperatives. The Cordova FFA took 2nd Place Overall Team and Claire Pearce was awarded 3rd Place high point individual!!! Our freshmen team placed Top 10 and are very excited to compete next year in “Advanced Ag Contests”. We are so proud of the hard work and hours of dedication these students put in outside of class and continue to participate in the country's largest youth leadership organization. Congratulations!
