    Classroom Rules and Expectations

    by Cagney

EVERY STUDENT HAS THE RIGHT TO LEARN.

NO STUDENT SHALL INTERFERE WITH ANOTHER STUDENT'S RIGHT TO LEARN.

    BE ON TIME:

    ~It shows respect and responsibility!

~Use the restroom during passing period, you will still get here on time if you don't stop to chat (prioritize).

    STAY IN ASSIGNED SEATS:

~So you can be counted after you have moved your magnet.

~So you don't distract yourself or others from work.

~So you don't get blamed for a mess by someone else at your assigned seat.

~So I can learn your name.

    RESPECT:

    ~For each other.

~~Only mark on your own paper, it is not okay to mark (or ruin) another student's project!

~~Keep hands, feet, and objects to yourself.

~~Artwork always stays in your cubbie, unless it is time to turn it in.

    ~For the teacher.

~~No talking while the teacher is talking or while another student is responding.

~~Follow directions the first time they are given.

    ~For class materials and property.

~~If materials are on the table, wait for instructions before touching them.

~~Use materials only as they were intended to be used.

~~Do not throw or destroy art supplies.

    STAY ON TASK:

~Part of your grade is that you are actively engaged in your work.

    ~Hard workers do not fail.

~Chatting during work time is fine, but the work must get done.

    ~Keep your volume low.

    FOLLOW DIRECTIONS:

~For safety, good grades, and so that our materials last a long time.

    CLEAN UP AFTER YOURSELF:

~I am not your mother, nor your maid, and neither are your classmates.

    COMPLETE YOUR WORK:

~A big part of your grade is project work, incomplete projects can make you fail.

~If you need more time, talk to me individually, but still hand in your work; some credit is better than no credit!

~Any extra time will depend on how you chose to use your time in class.

~If you are absent, it is up to YOU to find out what you missed (Ask 3, then me).

    STAY CREATIVE:

~Be as creative as you can, don't copy other work or samples.

~Do your own work, but it is okay to ask for a little help.
