Thank you for visiting my teacher website! I joined the Navigator Elementary team for the 2019-2020 school year, and I'm excited to begin my second year with this amazing school. I am a husband and father of three children, two of which are twins, and I enjoy spending as much time with all of them as possible, but teaching is a deep-rooted passion of mine. Our vacations, weekends, and summers are often spent exploring this amazing world, and discovering the knowledge that comes from those first-hand experiences. Because I often take time to make sure that my own children are learning from their experiences, I attempt to afford my students the same opportunities. Before I was a teacher, I was a form setter for a local concrete construction company. During that period of my life, I learned that patience, precise communication, and work ethic can make all the difference in a final product. Taking these ideas into the classroom has created some spectacular results. This year, I hope to construct some new knowledge for your child, dig into some new terrain, and help your child bulldoze the challenges they face. Utilizing the construction theme in the classroom has been a fun way to decorate, but also a useful metaphor for students to relate to as they build their educational foundations.
I am aware of the challenges that this year will bring with distance learning, and I hope to mitigate them as much as possible. The key to making this a successful year will be our ability to communicate effectively and be flexible as things change (which they likely will). Please reach out to me using the methods outlined next to my picture above should any questions come to mind. I look forward to working with you to make sure your child has the best possible education available. With a little elbow grease, a lot of practice, and the right tools, I am certain that we can put our thinking hard hats together to form the blueprints we can use to build upon the foundation of understanding your child already has. So, let's grab a drafting table and get to work!!
