Correcting Attendance Errors

  • You received an automated call/email/text saying your student was marked late or absent in one or more classes.... But they said they were in class

    * YOUR STUDENT WAS PRESENT or LATE, NOT ABSENT - If this is true, your student is responsible for clearing the marked absence. There are attendance correction forms in the Admin Office. Your student can obtain one for the teacher to sign, and your student must return it to the Attendance Clerk. Do not use the parent/guardian-accessible Google Form to report potential attendance errors.
TIP: Do not wait more than 3 days to have these attendance errors fixed!

You received an automated call/email/text saying your student was marked late or absent in one or more classes.... But they said it was the Subs fault

    * YOUR STUDENT HAD A SUBSTITUTE TEACHER -  If there was a substitute teacher, have your student come to the Admin Office and speak with the Attendance Clerk ASAP. Please also make sure your student sits in their assigned seats for roll. Do not use the parent/guardian-accessible Google Form to report potential attendance errors.

You received an automated call/email/text saying your student was marked late or absent in one or more classes.... You were so busy you forgot to call the school

    * PARENT/GUARDIAN FORGOT TO REPORT THE ABSENCE -  You have 10 school days to report an absence on the attendance line or email the Attendance Clerk: TRodriguez@fcusd.org

You received an automated call/email/text saying your student was marked late or absent in one or more classes.... But they called you to come pick them up and you did... without checking with the office

    * YOUR STUDENT LEFT CAMPUS WITHOUT PRIOR NOTICE. This is not allowed. Attendance will be marked as ‘CUT’ and the student may receive consequences for this action. Always sign out with the Attendance Clerk or Health Office (if ill) prior-to.  This is for your students safety

Remember, those automated notifications sent are for your benefit.  This is our way of letting you know that your student has an absence mark on their attendance. If you or your student says it's a mistake, that alone does not clear the absence. Please contact the school if you have any questions or concerns, as unverified absences can lead to truancy letters.
