Degrees and Certifications:
This is Jodi's 26th year of teaching. Throughout her career, Jodi has taught many different grade levels from primary to college students. Jodi received her BA in Liberal Studies with an Emphasis in English as a Second Language and Multiculturalism from San Jose State University. After graduation, she received her multiple subject teaching credentials from Bethany University in Scotts Valley, California. She holds teaching certificates in English and English as a Second Language (ESL). Jodi is also a certificated Flipped Learning Educator. She holds certifications in Flipped Learning 3.0-Mastery Level 1, Flipped Learning 3.0-Mastery Level 2, Flipped Learning Differentiation Specialist, and Flipped Learning Lesson Planning Specialist.
After receiving her teaching credentials, she taught overseas in Poland for two summers where she enjoyed traveling and teaching college students. Jodi has held various district leadership positions throughout her career, including Reading Coach at her site, Curriculum Advisory Committee, SST (Student Success Team) Committee, GATE Advisory, student teacher support mentor teacher, Title 1 Support Coach, PLC (Professional Learning Communities) Coach, site department chair, and member of the Folsom Cordova Unified School District Professional Development Cadre Team. As a Cadre Member, Jodi facilitated teacher training and the adoption of Common Core Standards. She has also taught professional development training for the district and her school sites on writing, The Hurried Child, Goal Setting and, most recently, Feedback through Relationships in a Distance Learning Model.
During her free time, Jodi and her husband enjoy parenting their two sons and hanging out with her giant Newfoundland dog, Steinway. She is also an author and illustrator of the book "Twinkle Twinkle: An Adoption Story". She finds great joy in painting and reading. She is pictured on the left with her two sons.
