On January 20, 2022, the Folsom Cordova Unified School District Board unanimously approved a revised by-trustee district-area map, with changes using 2020 CENSUS information that will be implemented for the November 8, 2022, election. 

There are three Board Member seats up for re-election in November; Joshua Hoover, David Reid and Ed Short. Only voters residing in Areas 1, 3, and 5 on the new trustee-area map, will vote for the three open seats.

NOTICE OF DISTRICT ELECTION IN THE FOLSOM CORDOVA UNIFIED SCHOOL DISTRICT

Notice is hereby given that a General District Election will be held in this district on November 8, 2022. The offices for which candidates may declare their candidacy are:

             Members of the Governing Board, three (3) positions; Area 1, Area 3, and Area 5

Qualifications: Each candidate must meet the following qualifications for office as specified in the principal act or code under which this district is organized:

Any person, regardless of sex, who is 18 years of age or older, a citizen of the state, a resident of the school district, a registered voter, and who is not disqualified by the Constitution or laws of the state from holding a civil office, is eligible to be elected or appointed a member of a governing board of a school district without further qualifications.

 Code Reference:     Education Code section 35107(a).

Official declarations of candidacy for eligible candidates desiring to file for any of the elective offices may be obtained from the office of the Registrar of Voters at 7000 65^th Street, Suite A, Sacramento, CA 95823-2315, on and after July 18, 2022, and must be filed not later than 5:00 p.m. on August 12, 2022. However, if a declaration of candidacy for an incumbent is not filed by August 12, 2022, any person other than the incumbent shall have until 5:00 p.m. on August 17, 2022, to file a declaration of candidacy for such office.

Appointment to each elective office will be made by the supervising authority as prescribed by Elections Code §10515 in the event there are no candidates or an insufficient number of candidates for such office and a petition for an election is not filed within the time prescribed by Elections Code §10515: that is, by 5:00 p.m. on August 12, 2020.
