• We all want to get off to a GREAT start this year, so let's make an effort to be prepared so that we can jump into learning and creating music!

To be ready for music class, you will need:

    • Two pencils (sharpened or mechanical)

    • One pen (black or blue ink)

    • A folder dedicated to music handouts and classwork (no other subjects in it!)

    • A notebook or composition book with lined paper

    • A refillable water bottle

    • A flexible attitude

    • A willingness to try new things

    • Ears that listen and voices that soar!

When we get closer to MANDATORY concert times (4 per year), you will be instructed about expectations.  You will have concerts that require casual attire, and concerts that require formal attire.  All concert attire should be washed and clean before wearing to a performance.  A third (less common) option is choir robes, but this option may not be used.

    Casual Attire:

    • Dark blue jeans (no rips or holes)

    • Choir t-shirt (no rips or stains)

    • Close-toed shoes (sneakers/boots/tennis/athletic shoes)

    • Hair worn any way that does not block eyes/mouth

    Formal Attire (High School):

    • Girls: Formal black dresses (pressed and hemmed above toes with hem tape or baste stitching), black dress shoes (closed or open-toed, no higher than 2" heel*), hair neatly groomed and pulled away from face (ponytail, braid, or headband), blingy jewelry optional

    • Boys: Black dress slacks (pressed and hemmed to back shoe sole), black dress shoes (with dark black/blue/brown socks), white long-sleeved button-up dress shirt (tucked in), black button up vest, hair neatly groomed and pulled away from face (ponytail, braid, or headband)

    Formal Attire (Middle School):

    • Girls: All black dresses or skirts/tops (knee length or longer), black dress shoes (closed or open-toed, no higher than 2" heel*), hair neatly groomed and pulled away from face (ponytail, braid, or headband), blingy jewelry optional

Choir Robe Attire (High School Only):

    • Dark colored (black/blue/brown) pants, socks and shoes

    • White shirt (light weight - robes are heavy and warm!)

    • Hair worn anyway that does not block eyes/mouth

    * If wearing heels, make sure you practice walking in your shoes before the day of the concert!
