Parents, we need your help! Please take the California School Parent Survey before November 21st. The purpose of this voluntary, anonymous, and important survey is to obtain parent perceptions about our school. The information you provide will help guide district and school efforts to promote safety, enhance learning supports, and improve student achievement. Student Council will be collecting canned and other non-perishable food items for the KCRA 3 Kids Can! Food Drive. Please deliver items to your student's classroom or to the Gold Ridge office between October 7th - November 8th. Click on the link for more information.
The Fall Spooktacular will take place at Gold Ridge on Friday, October 25th from 6:00 - 8:00 PM. MANY volunteers are needed to make this FREE event a success. Click on the link to find out how you can help and to view the flyer with all the event details.

Picture retakes will take place on Wednesday, October 30th. All students who did not have their photo taken on the original picture day will have their photo taken on 10/30. Students wishing to retake their photo MUST return their original pictures to the photographer. Click on the link for detailed information about picture retake day.
Gold Ridge is building a volunteer Crossing Guard/Safety Patrol Team. The purpose of the team is to monitor the three crosswalks adjacent to campus and to assist students with walking safely from the Loading Zone to the Amphitheater during the 8:10-8:25 AM morning drop-off. If your child would like to ride a bicycle or scooter to school please complete a Bicycle/Scooter Permission Form and submit it to the school office. Permission slips are available in the office or you can click on the link to download and print the form at home.
All student absences must be reported to the school office. An Independent Study Agreement can be filled out in advance for a planned absence of at least 5 consecutive school days. Click on the link for detailed information about reporting daily absences and about Independent Study Agreements.
Click on the link for detailed information on how to apply for Free and Reduced School Meals. To continue free and reduced lunch status, you must reapply each year. The grace period for the 2019-2020 school year ends on Monday, September 23rd. Any student without a 2019-2020 free and reduced application on file will have to pay for lunch after September 23rd.
For students who choose to attend college after high school, Folsom Cordova’s three comprehensive high schools - Cordova High, Folsom High, and Vista del Lago High - continues to prepare them for admission.
As part of its community-developed Safety Action Plan, the District this summer worked with Rancho Cordova and Folsom Police and Fire departments to organize three active shooter training drills for officers and SWAT team members at all three comprehensive high school campuses.
Earlier this year at Oak Chan Elementary School’s ‘Back to School Night,’ something new was unveiled on campus: a book vending machine. It works as one normally would but instead of snacks, it’s books, and rather than cash, it’s special gold coins.
The Patient Care pathway helps set students on a path to potential careers in medicine, everything from doctors to nurses, medical assistants to physical therapists, and more.
About 30 students from Folsom High and Cordova High recently had the opportunity to learn more about Historically Black Colleges and Universities - and several received on-the-spot admissions based on their grades and SAT scores!
Led by instructor MSgt Phil Magreevy, the cadets and color guard raised a special version of the American Flag, inscribed with the names of the nearly 3,000 victims who died in the historic attacks on the World Trade Center and Pentagon.

Jessica Kahn, a veteran educator currently at White Rock Elementary, was honored Friday, Aug. 23 alongside other outstanding educators at the Sacramento County Office of Education’s annual Teacher of the Year banquet.
