Mrs. Kirby-Gonzalez


Mrs. Kirby-Gonzalez partners with Mr. Gomez to provide 80 percent of the classroom instruction. Mrs. Kirby-Gonzalez was named the Folsom Cordova district 2010 Teacher of the Year.  She is a National Board Certified Teacher and FCUSD GATE certificated. In 2008, Mrs. Kirby-Gonzalez earned her master’s degree in Curriculum and Instruction from California State University, Sacramento. She is a Teacher Consultant for the Area 3 Writing Project at University California, Davis, and has co-led the FCUSD Annual Writing Celebration since 2010. She has been a History Day coach to her students since 2005 and was named Sacramento County History Day Teacher of the Year in 2009.   Mrs. Kirby-Gonzalez was a participant in the Teaching American History Grant and attended the Colonial Williamsburg Teacher Institute as well as a seminar on Benjamin Franklin in Philadelphia, sponsored by the National Endowment for the Humanities. Outside of the district, Mrs. Kirby-Gonzalez serves an elected role as a board trustee in the community where she lives and in this capacity served on the California School Board Association Equity Network.

In her freetime, Mrs. Kirby-Gonzalez enjoys camping and boating, co-leads her daugherter's Girl Scout Troop and serves on the Board of a nonprofit working to enhance public parks. Mrs. Kirby-Gonzalez's most prized role is parenting her two girls along with her husband.
