COVID-19 update: School closures

  • As an ongoing proactive measure to slow the spread of COVID-19, all Sacramento County school districts are extending school closures through May 1, 2020. This is a unified decision made in consultation with Sacramento County Public Health and in collaboration with school district leaders throughout Sacramento County. During the extended closure, plans for distance learning and meal service will continue as planned.

Pending further direction from the Governor or Sacramento County Public Health, Folsom Cordova schools are scheduled to reopen Monday, May 4, 2020.

  • Summer School Options

The Counseling Department is working to ensure your students have the resources they need for summer school and class requests for next year.

We have two options for summer school,Cordova High and Options for Youth.  Both schools will allow you to take 2 semesters (10 credits) .

Students who participate in Cordova High Credit Recover Summer Session will only be eligible to earn the highest grade of a C to recover A-G eligibility and to meet graduation requirements.

If your student needs/wants summer school please fill out the appropriate form and email it back to your student's counselor. You can scan or take a photo of the form.

If you are choosing Options for Youth you no longer have to take the form to their location.  Your student's counselor will email it directly to Options for Youth for you.

If you are unsure what course/s to choose please email your student's counselor.  The email address are provided below.

If your student still has a Course Selection Form for next year to turn in or a Free Period Contract,  please have them email their counselor.  You can scan or take a photo.  If they need another copy of these forms just let us know.

The Counseling Department is hoping everyone is well and staying healthy.

  • If you signed up for Remind

Unfortunately Remind went from being free to costing several thousand dollars so we are no long able to use this app for communicating.  We will continue to use Blackboard Connect to send messages via email, phone and/or text.  Thank you for your understanding.

  • Dropping something off for your student?

Please make sure your student knows that you are dropping it off, and they can pick it up during passing period or lunch.  We will not interupt class teaching time to notify students of a drop off. ALL ITEMS DROPPED OFF FOR STUDENTS MUST GO TO THE COUNSELING OFFICE, THE OFFICE BY THE MARQUEE. Thanks!

  • EARLY DISMISSALS

The fastest and most efficient method is to send a note with your student the morning of the early release. Your student will bring it to the attendance clerk before school begins. A pass will be made for your student so they can be waiting for you at the time of release.

For last minute early dismissals(@ the Administration Office) please allow yourself an extra 20 minutes as sometimes classes are in the library or at lunch, etc.

If you call the night before (916-294-2450 ext 810800)or the day of the release please leave the following information on the voice mail if you don't speak to the attendance clerk:
    • Students first and last name (please spell both).
    • Reason for the release.
    • Time you need your student released from the classroom
