    Important Hybrid Message

As you know we are planning for the return of students to campus and implementation of Hybrid schedules.

As a reminder, the Hybrid schedule will group students accordingly:

Group A will be on campus, Tuesday/Wednesday

Group B will be on campus, Thursday/Friday

Group D will be Students in Distance Learning

In order to help parents plan, student group assignments will be posted on the PowerSchool Parent Portal at 12:00 p.m., Thursday, February 25. The information will be displayed in a new banner that will appear across the top of the page. An email will also be sent to all parents to alert them when the information is live.

    Scheduling change requests:

Please note: The number of students in A and B groups has been carefully balanced in order to allow for physical distancing in classrooms and learning spaces. Furthermore, every consideration has been made to keep siblings and some students in specific academic programs in the same site-specific A or B group.

Due to the complexity of maintaining this balance, the only changes we can accommodate during the first two weeks of Hybrid learning will be students choosing to move from Hybrid Learning (group A or B) to Distance Learning (group D).

Families wishing to change from Distance Learning to Hybrid:

Once A & B groups return to campus, schools will spend the first two weeks verifying that students assigned to Hybrid learning groups are attending in person and plan to remain in those groups. Should enough space open in groups A or B after two weeks, administrators will work from a waitlist to move students from group D to Hybrid Learning.

We expect to hear from public health very soon as to the date students are allowed back to campus in a Hybrid model. As soon as we are notified, we will communicate this directly to parents.

  • Monday Schedule

Attendance Update – Mondays look a bit different!

On Mondays, students will continue to follow the distance learning bell schedule and attend one online meeting. In PowerSchool, you will now see a bell schedule and teachers will be recording attendance for all classes. This year, attendance is measured by student participation and engagement.

On Mondays, teachers will post asynchronous learning activities by 9:00am. Students are expected to complete the posted learning activities for ALL of their classes on Mondays, or make contact with their teacher by 2:30pm.  If students do not do either, they will be marked absent.

If it helps your child plan their Monday, you might want them to follow the schedule you see in PowerSchool.  *Advisory is synchronous. All other periods are asynchronous*

  • school reopening image

The Board approved the reopening of secondary schools to align with the California Department of Public Health’s directives for reopening schools, which includes a 5 day waiting period once Sacramento County has been moved to Red Tier status. For more information, please visit the CDPH website.

    • Currently, our county is in the Purple Tier and as you are probably aware, the numbers of COVID-19 positive cases have been increasing in Sacramento County.  We cannot predict when these numbers will decrease and when we will be moved to Red Tier status. However, we can plan and be ready for when that day will come.  The District has made plans to reopen secondary schools, with safety measures in place, PPE, advanced AV equipment, and staff training.

    • As we plan for reopening you will begin to see more information about what coming back to school will look like.  Please check back frequently for regular updates and information.  In addition, stand by to view what group your child will be in during the Hybrid Schedule.

    *Immunization Update*

When it is deemed safe to switch to a Hybrid/Traditional learning model, students will be required to have mandated immunizations or a medical exemption letter signed by the child's doctor stating which vaccines are exempted and the reason, or they may be excluded from in-person learning. Please do not wait until the last minute. Please turn in any required immunizations if you received a letter or email. Seventh graders need Tdap in addition to the other mandated immunizations. Please turn in the record as soon as possible to avoid any delays to in-person learning. The district is offering free immunization clinics for those who qualify. For more information please call 916 294-9013 or email your school nurse:
