What a wonderful place to be a kid! The Sundahl staff always shines. Excellent learning is always happening, but it is the little things that set Sundahl apart. From the extremely organized classrooms to the Wizard of Oz garden, students are a priority. Themes are woven into each classsroom. Walking through the rooms, you begin to notice the volumes of student work on the walls, and neatly arranged projects and books, framed by the hand-made curtains and new blinds (funded by the foundation) on the windows. When teachers are organized and ready to teach, students are organized and ready to learn. At this time of year, you might be lucky to find the "Elf on the Shelf" which is a student motivation "award" rotated for the best class. Or, you may see Miss Kim addressing Candy Grams, which is a fundraiser and holiday cheer event. Miss Kim makes sure that each primary grade student receives at least one Candy Gram highlighting that student's good attitude or contribution to the class. Principal Hays greets visitors with cookies and coffee making you feel welcomed and special.
Student-led teaching encourages self-confidence and mastery of subject matter. See video clip below.
