The visit to Oak Chan was very special.  The Student Body Officers greeted me and we sat down to talk.  These bright, young ladies had great questions:  What's the best part of my job? What's the hardest part of my job?  Describe a typical day.  They had wonderful comments about Oak Chan.  They shared that "new students are welcomed by each student in class and "buddied up" with a friend."  "Teachers really care about us, and not just that we do our school work, but they care about our lives!"  And,"The principal is friendly and enjoys spending time with us, so we know she cares, too."   "We love our school!"    The current school project is to raise funds for new bikes for students who may not be able to afford one.   The bikes need to be assembled.  So, Mrs. Woodman's students are learning job skills by assembling every bike.  The Student Body Officers are taking on a new project:  Art Work for the Education Services Center.  There many talented students (and teachers) whose artwork is displayed throughout the school.
