SJ Gallardo School Visit

SJ Gallardo's motto:  Gallardo Cares!  Each month they focus on those less fortunate.  This month, it is a sock/shoe drive called "Warm Your Soles."    Are you tired of sitting?  Feeling a bit wiggly?  One teacher's solution at SJG is allowing students to sit on an inflatable ball.  It works!      See the smart class?  Everyone has their hands raised in answer to a question from the teacher.  Gators have good manners, too.  See how patiently they wait for their turn in the learning lab!  And lunch at our largest elementary school (695 students)...well the noise level is a low, Gator Growl.  Back in class, they're studying Native Indian Tribes with diarammas showing the culture, shelter, food and clothes. Third grade students were giving presentations that I'd expect to see at fifth grade.  Way to go, Gators!   I observed many moments of individual student help from teachers, which is not easy with larger class sizes.  And, it was nice to see the K teacher reading to her students on the rug....with the added technology of a sound system so that every child hears the story clearly.  Thanks to the office staff and principal, SJG is a friendly place.  (P.S. - The one in the middle, with the biggest smile, is retiring this month)

Gator students have a unique way of welcoming guests.  See the video clip below.
