Consumer group: Limit added sugars in beverages
The Center for Science in the Public Interest urges the FDA to identify a "safe level" for added sugar in beverages. High sugar intake, especially sugars such as high fructose corn syrup and corn syrup, are indicated as potential causes of obesity...not exactly a surprise, but read your labels- these sugars are lurking everywhere, from salad dressing to BBQ sauce. Without realizing it, we can be consuming far more sugar than we think, let alone sodas and sugary drinks. It may take your tastebuds some getting used to, but it is honestly preferable to drink water and your preference of milk on a daily basis, reserving sweet drinks for rare treats.
