Cordova High's construction class wins Design and Build competition
The 31st Design and Build competition was held on May 10 and 11 by the SRBX Educational Foundation and Sacramento Regional Builders Exchange at Cosumnes River College. Cordova High School's construction class competed against 14 other schools teams and won "Best in Show."
The purpose of the competition was to see which team could build the best designed structure in only two days. This is Cordova High's second win in a row for the team.
The team was led the past two years by Yulia Khandryka, who designed the winning structure, and led team members: Mark Dovbysh, Eddie Slivinskiy, Adam Starkey, Gio Funicellio, Anthony Michelini, Cameron Bittick, Justin Martin, Wayne Boyce, and Kai Jorgensen to victory.
The construction teachers that worked with students are Andre Leinineke, Jon Rossi, Monica Lobbestal.
