Superintendent named Outstanding Woman Leader by ACSA
FCUSD Superintendent Deborah Bettencourt this week was named Outstanding Woman Leader of the Year by theAssociation of California School Administrators' Region 3.
In remarks made by Sacramento County Superintendent Dave Gordon, Bettencourt was honored for overseeing the growth of Folsom Cordova, the opening of new schools and innovative programs, and for her proactive work building local partnerships to support public education.
Bettencourt and two other Northern California education leaders were honored at the ACSA's annual spring Women's Leadership Network Event on April 24 at the McClellan Conference Center.
Bettencourt, whose career in public education has spanned four decades, announced she is retiring at the end of the school year.
