As Principal Peter Maroon said, in addition to their monetary contribution, ECMC has donated its time to tutoring students once a week, among other things.
“ECMC has dedicated their energy and support to help young people develop into productive members of our society,” Maroon said. “As members of our community, ECMC recognizes the importance of dedication and passion that it take to raise children.”
According to their website, ECMC was founded as a guarantor in 1994, and continues to help families and schools after loans became required to be issued by the Federal Direct Loan Program in 2010.
“We work with schools and loan servicers to lower student loan default rates, promote financial literacy and provide resources to support student loan borrowers to successfully repay their loans.”
Folsom Cordova is privileged to honor this outstanding catalyst in student success. As Maroon says, the organization’s vested interest in students is truly remarkable.
“Parents are working hard to support their families, unfortunately some of our students don’t have the adult role model at home to help them with organizational skill, study habits, supportive positive connection,” Maroon said. “ECMC provide that for our struggling students. The connection that employees have made with our students cannot be measured, that simple time spent is invaluable to our kids.”
