Middle School Raises Money With Hat Day
May 2, 2014
Sutter Middle School held a Hat Day to raise money to support Heavenly Hats Foundation, a foundation that provides new hats and headwear to patients of all ages experiencing hair loss due to cancer and other medical conditions.
Heavenly Hats was started in 2001, and since then, it has distributed over 1.5 million hats around the country.
This year, the leadership class at Sutter Middle School wanted to be a part of the difference. The class organized this event and encouraged students to donate a minimum of $1 to the organization. Students who donated money were then able to wear their hats to school to show their bold support of this organization.
Through this event, students were able to raise $130 to support this foundation. The class advisor, Shelley Miller, said, “The purpose was to help an amazing organization like Heavenly Hats keep doing the amazing work they have been doing.”
We are proud that our students continue to find unique opportunities to be a part of making a difference in the world.
