    The Sacramento Business Service Center, a subsidiary of the Sacramento Hispanic Chamber of Commerce, maintains as one of its core values, the need to provide financial support through scholarships for qualified students in the Sacramento region. Since its inception we have awarded more than $500,000 in scholarships to first and second year college students through the Mayor Joe Serna, Jr. Scholarship program.

     

    The purpose of the Mayor Joe Serna, Jr. Scholarship Program is to provide financial assistance to eligible graduating high school seniors who face limited access to educational and career opportunities. Students are selected and awards are distributed based on demonstrated academic achievement, financial need and community involvement. Students must be majoring in studies leading to a degree in business, computer science, engineering, health services or a vocational program leading to a professional career. Students must be of Hispanic origin. The Mayor Joe Serna, Jr. Scholarships are available on a competitive basis. Applicants must live in the Sacramento Six-County Regional area: Sacramento, El Dorado, Placer, Sutter, Yolo, Yuba counties and their cities. Applicants must apply for enrollment in a minimum of twelve units per semester. The scholarship recipient must request that the college provide the SHCC with proof of enrollment in order to receive their funds. Applicants will be notified of scholarship award status in May - June, 2014.

    McNellis Partners/Don Nottoli Scholarship: Due April 7th!!

    One scholarship between $2,500 and $5,000 will be awarded to a CHS Senior who has demonstrated strong interest in leadership and public service, both in their studies and extra curricular activities. The student must demonstrate financial need, and financial information will be required as part of the application. Minimum GPA of 3.0.

     

    Catherine Fidel Scholarship: Due April 7th!!

    One $1,000.00 or two $500.00 awards! Must have at least a 2.5 GPA and will be attending a 2 or 4-yr college/university in the fall. Must complete all application requirements.

     

    Coach Jones Scholarship:   Due April 7th!!

    New this year!! Two scholarships will be awarded, each for $1,000.00. Must have a minimum GPA of 3.0 and plan to attend an accredited college or university in the fall. Must complete all application requirements.

     

    David Rudnick Memorial Scholarship:  Due April 7th!!

    One $200 award. David Rudnick attended CHS from 1972 to 1975. He was a fine role model for students because he not only was an active participant in his own education, but was involved in many school and community activities. David was killed in an automobile accident shortly after high school and his family has given this scholarship in his memory ever since. The winner of this award will be chosen for achieving success in academics, athletics and extracurricular activities. Minimum GPA of 3.0.

     

    City of Rancho Cordova PRIDE scholarship: Due April 7th!!

    $500.00. Must have a minimum GPA of 3.0 and proof of acceptance or registration at an accredited college, university, vocational or technical college. Essay and letters of recommendation needed.

     

    Daniel Campbell Ford Scholarship: Due April 18th!!

    One $1,000.00 scholarship will be awarded to a CHS graduating senior planning to continue their education at a two-year or four-year college or university. Please visit this website for scholarship information www.DanielCampbellFord.com.

     

     

    Sacramento Region Community Foundation: Due Dates vary. Go to www.sacregcf.org for applications.

    Numerous scholarships available to graduating seniors who demonstrate financial need and who plan to attend an accredited 2 or 4 year college/university in the fall. 

     

    Honors Graduation Scholarship: Due April 1st!!

    Amount of scholarships may vary.
