Please note
that, "seniority
date" is not
synonymous with
"hire date." An
employee's
seniority date
is his/her first
day of service
in paid
probationary
status. An
employee's first
day in paid
probationary
status is not
necessarily the
day the employee
was first hired
by the
District. For
example, if an
employee worked
for the District
in a substitute
or temporary
capacity for
several years
before becoming
a probationary
employee,
his/her seniority date
would be
significantly
later than the
date the
employee was
first hired by
the District
(i.e. hire
date).
