The Cordova Lane Center is a hub for school district programs that serve children and families throughout Rancho Cordova and Folsom. Programs running out of the Cordova Lane Center are funded by grants, fees and other sources, not from the District´s General Fund. Some of the District programs and services located at the Center include:
State and Federal Preschool Program: (no-cost or low-cost preschool) Six sites in Rancho Cordova and one preschool in Folsom. [view website]
School Readiness Program: serving families of children birth through five years old. Providing no-cost parent participation playgroups, parent education workshops, summer-time Kinder Camps, and many other services geared toward preparing children for Kindergarten. [view website]
Student Care Centers (Before and After School Care: district´s on campus childcare programs): administrative office for this fee-based (sliding scale) childcare program operating on 17 campuses. [view website]
The STARS After School Program: administrative office for this no-cost afterschool program that serves students on 9 campuses in Rancho Cordova every day after school until 6:00 p.m. [view website]
The Parent Engagement Project: a National Service Project staffed with AmeriCorps VISTAs operating the Parent Resource Outreach Mobile (PROM), conducting parent information events, organizing workshops, and educational opportunities for parents district-wide, and seeking grants and donations to support parent engagement activities. Communities & Health Professionals Together (CHPT): another National Service Project in which an AmeriCorps VISTA works with UC Davis Resident Doctors and CSUS Nursing Students to carry out non-clinical health and wellness projects in Rancho Cordova and Folsom.
Early Childhood Assessment Team: specialists in various aspects of child development and special education assess young children and provide a range of support services including a referrals to preschool program for children ages 3-5.
Special Education Preschool:
three classes of preschool students with special needs, including Early Intervention Behavior Therapy, Structured Preschool, and Non-Categorical Preschool. Provides opportunities for children with special needs to spend time with their typically-abled peers in the State and Federal Preschool classes operated at the Center. [view website
Family Resource Center: provides information and referral services to families seeking health and human services. Cordova Lane Center has the district's only Certified Application Assistant that can help families without health insurance apply online for Healthy Families/Medi-Cal.
