    Mitchell Wrestling


    Wrestlers and Parents,

    Welcome to the Mitchell Middle School Wrestling Team. Practice will begin on Monday November 14, 2016.  Practices will be Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday 3:15 – 5:00.   Thursday Practices will be from 1:45– 3:15. No practices Friday’s in the month of November.  Friday practice will be 3:15 – 4:30 PM starting in December.

    Our Annual Mitchell Takedown Tournament will be Thursday December 15, 2016 at Cordova High School.  Other Saturday tournaments will begin in December.   Midweek league meets will begin in early January. The league finals will be on February 7, 2017 at Mitchell. Not everyone will qualify for the post season tournaments. 

    The cost to wrestle at Mitchell is.  Checks need to be made out to Mitchell Middle School.  There will be several individual invitational tournaments which will cost between $10- $15 each.  Wrestling shoes are required. They can be purchased at Big 5, sports authority or online.  It is a district requirement is that all athletes have a sports physical by a physician prior to the tryout.

    “Mitchell Wrestling” t-shirts, sweatshirts, are for sale. 

                 The requirements to wrestle are:

    • 0 GPA.
    • No more then 1 U or N citizenship mark
    • FCUSD -Acknowledgement of Athletic/Extra Curricular Handbook Form
    • FCUSD -Agreement for Team/Extra Curricular Participation- 2 pages
    • FCUSD -Sports Physical Examination Form


     According to Greater Sacramento Area Middle School Wrestling Association bylaws, students attending "feeder" elementary schools in the Mitchell attendance zone or plan on attending Mitchell may be on the Mitchell Wrestling team as young a 4th grade.  Wrestlers will be grouped by weight and experience not age.  However, it it the policy of the Twin Rivers Athletic League (TRAL) that only students attending Mitchell will be wrestle int the League Finals.
